Tenant Setup

Administrator

This guide covers the initial configuration of a new DataCentral Tenant. A Tenant is your isolated workspace within the DataCentral instance, containing your users, roles, reports, and settings.

1. Initial Access

When a new Tenant is provisioned by the Host Administrator, you will receive a welcome email containing your initial login credentials and the URL for your Tenant (e.g., https://yourcompany.datacentral.ai).

  1. Navigate to your Tenant URL.
  2. Log in using the initial Admin credentials provided in your welcome email.
  3. You will be prompted to change your password upon first login.

2. Basic Configuration

Once logged in, navigate to Administration > Settings to configure the basic details of your Tenant.

  • Tenant Name: The display name of your organization.
  • Contact Email: The primary email address for support and administrative notifications.
  • Timezone: Set the default timezone for audit logs and scheduled tasks.

3. Next Steps

After completing the basic configuration, you should proceed to set up authentication and connect your data sources:

  1. Configure Authentication: Decide how your users will log in (Entra ID, User Pass, Mobile ID).
  2. Connect to Power BI: Set up a Service Principal to allow DataCentral to access your reports.
  3. Set up Branding: Customize the look and feel of your Tenant to match your corporate identity.
